FASHION MODELING

FASHION MODELING

In order to make it in the highly competitive world of fashion modeling you need to possess a unique look that sets you apart from the rest of the crowd of hopeful talents. If you’ve got it covered in the appearance department, you’ll also need to have a natural ability to work in front of the camera and the natural confidence to pull it off successfully.

It can be an exciting day when you are called to show up for that all-important, first-ever fashion modeling session. It can also be a little stressful when you find out that fashion modeling work sounds a lot easier than it actually is. Holding a bunch of strange poses with an army of photographers, make-up artists, stylists and other crew scrambling around you can be very demanding. Especially if it is your first shoot.

Here are some things to know before that first fashion modeling shoot:

• Be on time, preferably 30 minutes early.
• You will be told what to wear.
• You will be told to come with or without make-up.
• Bring your own make-up too.
• Be prepared to spend a long day on the job.
• You will be provided with a toilet.
• You should be provided a place to change clothing.
• You should be provided a place to park.
• You should be provided with meals.
• Do not comply with instructions you feel uncomfortable about.
